Comedy Central used to put some effort into their promos. If this one was to be described as if it were a Tivo program guide entry, it might be, "A man in a plunging elevator shares his fate with the Buddy Scott Trio."

1991 - Denis Leary for London Underground
Comedy Central used to have a program called London Underground, known first as Paramount City in Britain where it originated. In this ad, Denis Leary promos the new season.

1990 - Night After Night
Those of us who were fans of the Comedy Central program Night After Night With Allan Havey treasure what few precious mementos we can find of the show, because at the time it flew way under everyone's radar and wasn't the subject of obsessive documentation the way, say, The Daily Show has been. This clip is a promo for Night After Night, with Elisabeth Shue slamming a basketball into Havey's gut.

Excellent! Another Buddy Scott Trio interstitial from Comedy Central has surfaced on one of my old 8mm tapes. This time, the Trio consoles a gentleman whose beloved is fooling around with the plumber.

1995 - Jeffrey Ross
Top-notch modern-day roastmaster and poet Jeffrey Ross reads from his poem "My Girl Giggles," as seen in one of a series of Comedy Central promos representing (as I've said elsewhere) a time when CC cared a great deal about making their promos genuinely interesting and worth watching.

1991 - Patton Oswalt and Blaine Capatch
Patton Oswalt and Blaine Capatch - was this a running promo for CC in that year? I don't remember, but it's worth having around because, hey, Patton Oswalt. (Poor Blaine, ill-served by that "Live Feed" caption constantly over his face.)

1994 - Comedy Central Primetime Lineup
They're back! Patton Oswalt and Blaine Capatch figure out what the primetime lineup should be for Comedy Central. Patton dances with a fez on.

1994 - The Real Bowl
Another artifact of Comedy Central's former efforts at entertaining the audience between shows. The Real Bowl, of course, being a parody of The Real World. There were a series of these, I'll see if I have more of them somewhere.
